LSC224 & MOJO90 - Nature's Discovery

I made this card for two different challenges today...LSC224 - where we were to follow the Water plus Sand list of using only blues, greens, and/or grays on our card along with any neutral colors. Also, we had to incorporate brads, ribbon and paper piercing as embellishments...we could use anything else also, but HAD to have those three elements. I also used the sketch from MOJO90. What a fun sketch! Love all the different shapes!

So, I really was not sure what images to use today, and then I remembered I had gotten this WONDERFUL Tim Holtz stamp set a couple of months ago called Nature's Discovery and have not put ink to it yet...I know...*gasp*!! So today was as good as any to play with these images!

For all the layers of paper, I used some alcohol inks (blue peri and lettuce)...for the back two pieces I used more lettuce then blue peri, and then for the panel with the cattails stamped on it, I used more blue peri and a lot less lettuce.

I then added some ribbon and the great Tim Holtz metal corners. I was all ready to take a picture of my card, and then realized I had not done two of the elements we were supposed to have for the LSC224...I had forgotten brads and paper piercing. So I added the pewter brads, and the paper piercing, and the card before you is now the finished product. Whew!! I think I did it! LOL

Thanks so much for visiting today! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Connie

FTTC11 & SSnotime82 - Paper Pieced Flourish

I made this card for both FTTC11 - where we were to paper pierce on our creations and SSnotime82 - where we were to have something hanging on your card.

I got this paper piecing template from Bazzill Basics Paper a while ago and have been waiting for the right time to use it. When I saw this weeks FTTC, I know it was the perfect thing for my card!

I also knew I wanted to combine this challenge with SSnotime's challenge this week, and when I put the gray ribbon on this card, it just screamed for a dangling crystal bead!

For my main image, I stamped it in palette black, and then shaded the white sweet peas with a gray copic and copic blender pen. I also colored the greenery with a very pale green copic.

I had every intention of having this card be a CAS card, but as you can see I veered from that a bit! It really just seemed to be screaming..."sponge the edges in gray" to me...so I did! LOL!!

Card Details:

Paper: Basic Gray, Going Gray, Whisper White
Inks: Palette Black, Copics
Accessories: Paper Piercing Template, Crystal bead, Gray Ribbon, Sponges

SC216 - God So Loved the World

I made this card for SC216. I just love this sketch, but then again, I pretty much love ANY sketch with a circle in it!!

For today's card I decided to use the He is Risen set from Our Daily Bread Designs. This set is just so wonderful! I LOVE this cross and all the lovely sentiments that came with it! Perfect for some wonderful Easter cards!
I stamped the cross in stamped off basic gray, and then stamped the sentiment over the cross with not quite navy. I think the rest of the card is pretty self explanatory. I used my Creative Memories Circle cutter and scalloped circle nestability for the half circle background. Then I paper pierced the white scallops and the white border strip behind the image. To finish off the card, I added some baja breeze ribbon and not quite navy brads.

I don't know about you, but I think you can tell from my last two posts I am ready for spring to filing!! :)

Card Details:
Images: He is Risen - ODBD
Paper: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, White, Urban Garden DSP
Inks: Basic Gray, Not Quite Navy
Accessories: Not Quite Navy Brads, Paper Piercer and Piercing Pad, Baja Breeze Ribbon, Scalloped Circle Nesties, Creative Memories Circle Cutter
