ISC September Blog Sketch Challenge!

Innovative Stamp Creations is having a blog sketch challenge over on their blog starting today, and I made this card using the fun sketch!

I used the newly released Country Life set. I kept it pretty simple by stamping the watering can, flowers, and bee (or fly) on very vanilla paper, and colored them with copic markers. I used the labels 8 Nestabilities for my main image panel, added some medium sized antique brass brads, and a large antique brass eyelet. I then added a bit of so saffron twill ribbon to finish off the card.

Now, to play along, all you have to do is use your ISC images with this sketch, and leave a comment with a link to your creation over on the ISC blog by October 11 for your chance to win 1 free stamp sheet of your choice!! Free stamps...gotta love that!!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a wonderful day!!

Jack-O-Lantern Man!!

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday! I am just so excited to share more new stamps with you today! Today, I have decided to use the Multi Step Pumpkin set. LOVE that you can use these stamps to create either a wonderful pumpkin card, or you can make your pumpkins into jack-o-lantern....which I have done for my card today! Not only have a made a jack-o-lantern, but I have made a jack-o-lantern man!! I can not decide whether I think he is spooky, or just plain cute! LOL!!

To make my man, I stamped all three pumpkins on top of each other with barely banana, apricot appeal, pumpkin pie, and tangerine tango. I then added the jack-o-lantern face to the top pumpkin, the pumpkin top, and a few twig arms (which is from the final vine image stamp in this same set). Next, I added the sentiment which is from the Ready 4 Any Holiday stamp set. To finish off my card, I added some black twill ribbon, olive colored crystal brads, and some new BasicGrey Halloween DP!

Please head on over to see all the other creation the Crew members have created week for you!!

ODBD October Sneak Peek!!

I can not believe that September is almost over! However, with October just around the corner, that also means another wonderful release from Our Daily Bread Designs!! This month's sets are just so lovely, and will make making sympathy cards just a little easier!

For today's card I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch MTSC40. I also wanted to try my hand at today's Way to use it challenge - WT237 - where we were to think outside the box by stepping away from what we would usually do on a card. You may look at this card and think...looks like your style Connie...however, I decided that I would limit my layers! Yes, believe me...I wanted to put at least 4 more layers on this card. Also, I tried to veer away from my normal embellishments. The sketch called for ribbon, and I so wanted to put some beautiful satin caramel ribbon on this card, but instead, I decided on this thinner gingham ribbon. Additionally, I wanted to add some brad in the bottom corner, instead, I reached for some buttons which have been gathering dust for probably about two year! Aside from the card I made earlier this week with the hand made paper buttons, I can probably count on one hand the number of times I have used buttons on a card. Oh...and I can not tell you how badly I wanted to distress ALL the edges of this card with my distressing tool..but I refrained!!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Make sure to come back tomorrow for a sneak peek of one of the new sets being released by Kitchen Sink tomorrow!!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a wonderful day!

Butterfly Birthday!!

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!! This is a special week in our household...my DD is turning 6 on Wednesday, so I decided to make a birthday card for her. She LOVES purple, and she LOVES butterflies, so this is what I came up with.

The sentiment and flourished background panel were created with the faux bleach technique. I stamped the images in versamark and heat embossed with clear EP. I then inked the glossy white card stock with some Tim Holtz Alcohol inks by Ranger Ink. Once the ink was dry, I ironed off the clear embossing between two pieces of copy paper. Which then gives you the bleached effect.

The butterflies were stamped in pretty in pink and pale plum, cut out and popped up on dimensionals. To finish off the card, I added some pale pink ribbon and some pink bling (what little girl does not like satin ribbon and bling!!) :)

Please head on over to see all the other creation the Crew members have created week for you!!

LSC238 - Sea Grape Leaves in Golden Durango

This card is for LSC238 - To create a card with Halloween colors, but does not have to be a Halloween card...which is a good thing, since I don't have very many Halloween stamps. I really need to solve that problem. :)

Anyway, this grape leaf image is from the Shades of Autumn set which was just released this month from Innovative Stamp Creations. These wonderful sea grape leaves come in many different colors, on of which is a rich rusty color, which I thought would be perfect made with some new Dusty Durango paper from SU!

I stamped the flowers directly on the paper with some Encore Gold ink. The DP is from Deja View. To finish off the card, I added a bit of gold ribbon, a borderabilitiy from Spellbinders, and the sentiment.

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a great weekend!!

SC246 & CC236 - Thinking of You

I made this card for two SCS challenges - SC246 what a great sketch, and CC236 - Pretty in Pink, Soft Suede & Whisper White.

I used the newly released Thinking of You set from Our Daily Bread Designs. The image panel was cut out with the label 9 Nestabilities, and then I sponged the edges with the die still on to keep the white border. The soft suede panel was cuttlebugged for a bit of texture. To finish off the card, I added some white satin ribbon and white brads.

Thanks so much for visiting! Have a great day!

Kitchen Sink Monday - Sweet Birthday Wishes!!

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!! Today is one of my fellow Crew member's birthday...Happy Birthday Lynn!!! In honor of her birthday, I have created this card for her!

I decided to use this week's weekend sketch challenge WSC97...LOVE this sketch!! For my image I used the Multi Step Berries. I stamped the raspberries on Pale Plum card stock with pale plum and rich razzleberry inks. To frame the image I used the kaleidescope pendent. I sponged both the center of the pendent, and the edges with some pale plum ink. The DSP is from BasicGrey's Wisteria collection. To finish off the card, I added some basic gray taffeta ribbon and some purple dew drops.

I also used the same pendent for the middle of my card. I sponged it the same way as the front of my card. Finally, I layered it on some rich razzleberry and basic gray papers.

Please head on over to see all the other creation the Crew members have created week for you!!

The DP is from BasicGrey Porcelain collection. I added the Fleur De Lis border, some wide yellow satin ribbon and some half pearls.

Pretty simple, but I love the look of this sketch...I sure hope my Grandmother likes it (I made it for her b-day this Monday). Tulips are her favorite, so I don't think I can go wrong with this image!!

It’s Betsy’s Birthday today!
ISC has never offered such a unique & special-deal!Over 50+ stamps - Special-offer ends ~ Friday Sept 18th!

I have to say I love all of these new set, but I saved my favorite two for last! This first card is from the Country Living set. I first stamped the pitcher image and colored it with copics. Next I stamped the grass images. I then colored over the pitcher with my versamarker and heat embossed the image with clear EP. Next, I stamped the wagon wheel, colored with copics, then my versamarker and embossed with clear EP.

Once all my images were stamped and covered with clear EP, I was then able create the "wood siding" in the background by first brayering creamy caramel over the entire image panel, and then taking a piece of scrap paper and starting at the bottom and working my way up, spooning lines in the darker close to cocoa color.

Next I stamped the flower in this image in so saffron on so saffron paper to create my own DP. to finish off the card, I added the sentiment, some antique brass brads, and a couple of ribbon tabs in the corner.

This next card was created using the Farm Life sheet. Here I stamped the barn, colored with copics and covered with my versamarker and clear EP. I then inked the tree image by coloring the rubber directly with some Old Olive Ink for the top part of the tree and chocolate chip for the bottom part of the tree. Once it was stamped if finished coloring the tree with a few copics. Once it was colored, I did the same thing as to the barn and clear embossed it. Next, I stamped colored and clear embossed the sun image.

Once I was finished with all the images, I then was able to create the rest of my scene by sponging the pond, grass and clouds in the sky. I finished off the card by adding the sentiment, some twine, baja breeze ribbon, and the pail charm.

Thank you so much for visiting today! Have a wonderful weekend!!

Friend Wall Hanging

I created this wall hanging today using all three of the sets released this month from Our Daily Bread Designs! I just love these sets, and how they work so well with each other!!

I started my wall hanging by running some chocolate chip paper though my big shot with the largest label 8 nestability. The designer papers for each of the panels are from BasicGrey's Porcelain, and layered with some rose red paper. I then rounded the corners with my bind it all 1/4" corner rounder.

For the first panel, I used the image from the Thinking of You set. The second panel uses the image from the Friendship set, and the third panel's image is from the Get Well set. All of the sentiment/verses are from the Friendship set. The images and sentiment are all stamped in chocolate chip, and then I sponged each of the image panels with some Worn Lipstick and Walnut Stain Distress inks.

To finish off each panel, I added a bit of Chocolate Chip or Pomegranate satin ribbons, and some Orchid dew drops.

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a wonderful day!

Ahhhh...how I would love to be in the tropics right now! Well, I guess I will just have to settle for my tropical card instead! Today's card was created using the new set from Innovative Stamp Creations called The Tropics! This and four other brand new sets will be available this Friday, September 11th!

I started by stamping the bamboo image with old olive on some old olive card stock to create my own DP. I then stamped the leaf three times, colored them with copics and popped them up on the bamboo panels. I then added a bit of chocolate chip twill ribbon., and some old olive brads.
To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment in craft white ink, and then rubbed a bit of old olive chalk over it to give it the green coloring.

I then layered the flower on the smaller kaleidescope pendent from spellbinders, along with a scalloped circle Nestabilities. The DP is from BasicGrey, and the ribbon is some chocolate chip satin ribbon. To finish off the card, I added the sentiment in the top corner.

KSCC17 - School Dayz Book

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!! Since it is the first Monday of the month, that means it is time for another Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge (KSCC17)!! Today, the challenge is hosted by Maki, and she is challenging us to go Back to School! To use school supplies or items to make a card or project! Extra apple point for the school themed project :) I decided to create this little School Dayz book for my DD. I saw a book similar to this in a catalog the other day, and though...Oh I could make that...so here is my version!

The cover was made using the 3 step School Days set. I created the background paper with the apple image. Additionally, the book image is from this set. The sentiment was created using the Monogram and Alphabet stamp set. I heat embossed the letters with versamark and white EP on black paper to give it a chalk board look. I then framed that with the label 8 Nestabilities. To embellish the corners of the nesties, I used some mini paper clips from Tim Holtz...which qualifies at the use of school supplies for this school themed project! :)

The inside pages are all the same with fun school facts to fill out about your child. I have also left a space so that I can add a picture for each school year from Kindergarten to 12th grade! The bottom of each of the pages have been stamped with the ruler image from the 3 step School Days set.

Please head on over to see all the other creation the Crew members have created week for you!!

Also, don't forget about the on going 10% off your purchase at the Kitchen Sink Stamps Store. All you have to do is use the promotion code of CONNIE10KSS. How fun it that! Gotta love a discount!! Thanks so much for visiting today!! Have a great week!

Our Daily Bread Three for Thee Challenge!

Our Daily Bread Designs is having a challenge this month to make a Pocket Card!!! I just LOVE pocket cards!! I decided to do a spin on the double pocket card. You can see a tutorial for this type of double pocket card on Barb Mullikin's Blog!

For my card I started with some Parisian Breeze DSP, and folded it into the pocket card base, and rounded the corners. The image and sentiment on the front of the card are from the new Get Well Set I heat embossed both the image and the sentiment with brown craft ink and clear embossing powder, and sponged the edges with some baja breeze ink. I then embossed the image again, cut out and colored the butterflies with copics and popped them up on top of the original stamped image. The sentiment is layered with the new Labels 9 Nestabilities. I then finished the front off with some hero art half pearls, and some white satin ribbon.

The inside of my card has the double pocket portion of the card. On the left hand side, I added some more layered Labels 9 Nestabilities so I can write a little note to the recipient. I also added some more white satin ribbon across the whole inside of the card.

The tags were created using two of the wonderful and encouraging verses in this set. I rounded the corners, sponged the edges, added a large light blue eyelet and some white satin ribbon. As with the front of the card, these verses are also heat embossed with clear EP.

For more deets about this challenge, and what you will have a chance to win you can head over to the ODBD blog. Also, be sure to check out what some of the other bread sticks have come up for this challenge!

ODBD September Sneak Peek!!

WOW!! I can not believe it is September already!! Where has the year gone?? Anyway, the first of September marks another new release from Our Daily Bread Designs! For my card today, I have used the new Friends set.
I started by stamping the dragonfly flourished image and sentiment on velum with stazon black. I then placed the vellum over some dragonfly DP from BasicGrey's Wisteria collection. For the ribbon, I decided to heat/burn the edges of some organdy white ribbon to give the ribbon a distressed look. I also distressed all of the card stock edges. The blue background has been dry embossed with SU texturez mini polka dots, and then sponged with blue.

To finish off the card, I added some half pearls and a Tim Holtz grunge board dragonfly painted with dusty concord distress crackle paint and covered in some ice Stickles. Okay, so I think I may have gone a little overboard with all of the dragonflies...Oh well! :)

Check out what some of the bread sticks have created for today! Angie, Chris, Dawn, Deb, Grace, Lorelie, Sandee & Silke

Thanks so much for visiting today, and don't forget to come back on Thursday to see another new creation from ODBD!!
