I made this for TLC200 - Faux Silk with a POP! There is a great video tutorial on how to make your faux silk "pop" over on Ann Clemmer's blog.
For my card, I used Innovative Stamp Creation's Marvels of Nature II set. I started by stamping and cutting 3 little birds out of some scrap paper to use as a mask for the large leaf floral stamp. I placed the birds on the stamp, and then inked it up with old olive ink. I then took the birds I was using as a mask off the image and stamped the flourish directly onto white tissue paper. I then crumpled the tissue paper up and carefully smoothed it out again. Then I stamped three more birds in pink pirouette on whisper white and cut them out. I then used a glue stick and glued the pink birds to the back of the tissue paper exactly where I had masked them before.
Next, I took at whisper white piece of paper and sponged some clouds in Baja breeze. I then covered it with glue from a glue stick and centered my tissue paper over the card stock and smoothed it over making sure to leave a few "wrinkles" to get the faux silk effect.
I then added some crimped light pink ribbon and the sentiment (which is from Rustic Artsy Swirls also from ISC) punched with my oval punches. For the base background I stamped more of the flourish leaves in old olive on pink pirouette card stock.
I really do like the faux silk technique and now adding a little "pop" just makes it even more fun!! You should definitely give it a try!!
