Grandma Mini Note Purse!!

Isn't this purse just sooooo adorable!! My dear friend Margy made me one a few weeks back, and I just HAD to make one of my own. She got the template off of Splitcoast which can be found here. It is just super easy with one piece of 12 x 12 DP!! In this care, I use a beautiful piece of SEI DP called First Kiss Pearl paper.

I thought this purse would make a fun little gift for my Grandma's for Mother's Day this year. I used the new Mom set from Our Daily Bread Designs which will be released tomorrow!! I colored with images with copics, and cut it out with a labels 3 nestabilities. I then added a few pearl flourishes from Zva Creative.

Here are a few pictures of the inside. As you can see...a candy bar fits perfectly in this little purse. Once you remove the candy bar, you can add a little message, as I did. I just LOVE this verse which is also from the new Mom set from Our Daily Bread Designs. I also stamped a few of the flowers, colored them and cut them out for a bit more embellishment.

Hoppy Easter!!

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!! I figured since this is the last week before Easter, I just had to get one more Easter card in. Today I decided to use the Three Step Honey Bunny set.

I stamped the bunny with going grey stamped off, going grey, basic grey, basic black. The grass was stamped with mellow moss, old olive and always artichoke. I then lightly sponged some clouds in the sky.

While I was a CHA I was introduced to quilling...I sat down with a gal that showed me how to do a few folds, and was hooked! This is the first time I was able to actually put quilling on a card, and I have also determined that I need some more practice! LOL!! However, it was tons of fun creating the stem and leaf with this technique.

To finish off the card, I dry embossed the blue background with a divine swirls cuttlebug folder, and added a bit of purely pomegranate satin ribbon, along with the sentiment.

ODBD - Sneak Peek Time!! Happy Father's Day!

Yep!! It is that time again, time to start showing some sneak peeks of the wonderful sets that Our Daily Bread Designs has coming out for you in the month of April. The set I have used today is called Happy Father's Day!. Love this old fashioned looking tool box!

To keep with the old fashion look on my card, all the of the edges have been distressed with my Tim Holtz distressing tool, and Tea Die and Walnut stain distress inks. The sentiment panel was distressed even more by running it through the distressed lines cuttlebug embossing folder. To give the image some color, but keep the softness, I stamped it with Walnut Stain Distress ink and colored the toolbox with some red chalks. To finish it off, I added a Tim Holtz spinner and gear and a few additional brads.

Our Help in is the Name of the Lord!

Hello all!! Today, I decided to create a card using some Tim Holtz Alcohol inks!! I just love playing with alcohol inks!! My mixture for behind the verse and the card background uses a bit of Meadow, Lettuce, Denim, and Silver mixative. Love how it can create a polished stone look on some Glossy white paper!!

Once the ink was dry, I heat embossed both the Vine border and the verse, which is from the Scripture collection 3 set released last week! To embellish the card I added a layered cross from the Spellbinder's Cross Collection. I then paper pierced a border around the card, added some black brads and light green crystal gems. To finish it off I added a bit of black ribbon.

Horseshoes & Stars!

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!! Today I paired the newly released Multi Step Horseshoes image with the Multi Step Ornament and Stars set. I though the horseshoes and stars would make a perfect southwestern looking card!!

The Horseshoes were stamped as follows: Step 1: Tea Die Distress Ink; Step 2: Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink; Step 3: Walnut Stain Distress Ink. For the stars in the background strip, I stamped only the last two steps: Step 2: Blue Bayou; Step 3: Not Quite Navy.

The image was cut out using a Labels 2 nestabilties. All of the edges of the card were distressed with a Tim Holtz distressing too, and sponged with Tea Die and Walnut Stain Distress inks. To finish off the card, I added a bit of thin rope, and three large brads.

MMSC45 & ODBDSLC6 - Happy Spring!!

I made this card with two challenges in mind. This week's MMSC45 - what a fun sketch, and ODBDSLC6 - Think Spring and New Life...to may a springy card.

For my spring card, I decided to use the newly released Easter Blessings from Our Daily Bread Designs I started by stamping the lily of the valley image with Pealed Paint Distress ink. I then cut the image up for the brick wall look, and distressed all the edges with both Shabby Shutters and Tea Die distress inks. The DP on the base of the card is from Basic Grey's Origins DP. To finish off the card, I added a few light green gems and some olive satin ribbon.

ODBD 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop!!

It is officially here! Today is Our Daily Bread Design's 2nd Anniversary!! I have been blessed to be on the ODBD DT for the last 9 months and have enjoyed every minute of it!! Today, Kelley is releasing four new and truly wonderful Special Edition sets! They are near and dear to our hearts, because each of us on the Design Team submitted one of our favorite verses that we would like to put on a card, and those Scripture Verses are two of the sets being released today. If that wasn't exciting enough... she also created two sets of gorgeous borders that fit the Scriptures! If you want that special touch to present your sentiments in... these frames are it!

Today's Blog Hop is special because it allows each of the Design Team members to make the first card with their own favorite Scripture! Mine is in the Scripture Collection 3 - Psalm 124:8. For my card, I heat embossed both the scripture and the Ironworks Border with antique gold embossing powder. The base gold layer was dry embossed with the Flur De Lis cuttlebug folder. To finish off the card, I added a metal flower from Tim Holtz, and some cream satin ribbon.

ODBD2AC4 - Favorite Set!!

Today, we are continue our Our Daily Bread Designs Anniversary celebration!! The challenge today is to use your all time favorite Our Daily Bread designs Set! For all the deets you need on this challenge you can head over to the ODBD Blog!

For my card today, I used my favorite set Quiet Waters. I stamped the image with palette black ink and then colored it with copics. The circle frame was cut into each layer and then distressed, as was each of the layers under the verse. To finish off the card, I dry embossed the blue base layer with a cuttlebug folder, added the baja breeze double stitched ribbon along with the Tim Holtz "Believe" charm and a brad with a washer in the top right corner.

ODBD2AC3 - Silver or Gold!!

Welcome to day three of Our Daily Bread Designs 2nd Anniversary Challenge!! Silver and Gold are the traditional gifts for those special milestones in a marriage... the 25th and 50th Anniversaries. Today's challenge is to make a project that includes silver and/or gold. For full details regarding the challenge, head on over to he ODBD Blog!


For my card today, I chose the silver route. The image and verse are both from the Lord Has Risen set. The image was heat embossed with silver EP, colored with copics, cut out and then popped up on my card.


The silver sparkley background was created with some Silver Glimmer Mist...I sort of did a rubbing off technique, were I sprayed the white card stock with the Glimmer mist and then took some crumpled toilet paper and dabbed off portions of the mist to make it heaver in some areas and lighter in other.


To finish off the card, I added some silver satin ribbon layered on a punched border (punch from Martha Stewart). I also added a Maya Roads black pearl stick pen through the pupped up violets and some flourished gems from Zva Creative.

MMSC44 - Spring Daffodil

I made this card for this week's Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #44...a fabulous sketch indeed!!! I decided to use the newly released Happy Easter set from Our Daily Bread Designs. I stamped the daffodil on certainly celery card stock and colored the flower with an opaque white pen and copics. The DP is from Basic Grey's Origins package, and the ruffled suede ribbon is from May Arts. To finish off the card, I added some half pearls.

Easter Tulips!

Today, I decided to use the 3 step tulip bouquet...I wanted to try and show off a spring boquet with this fun color combo, so I decided to ink each of the flowers with different stampin' up markers to create the different colors on the larger and smaller bouquets. The color combos for each of the tulips and the leaves are as follows:

Pink: Pretty in Pink; Regal Rose, Rose Red, Rose Red again, Ruby Red

Yellow: Barely Banana, So Saffron, Summer Sun, More mustard, More mustard again

Blue: Bashful Blue, Taken with Teal, Taken With Teal again, Tempting Turquoise, Tempting Turquoise again.

Greenery: Certainly Celery, Certainly Celery again, Wild Wasabi, Wild Wasabi again

I then cut the image out with a labels three Nestabilities, and layered it with a scalloped circle Nestabilities cut out with Bermuda Bay card stock. To finish off the card, I added the sentiment which is on one of the Fancy Tags from Spellbinders along with some bright pink gems.

KSCC23 - Masking!!!

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!! Boy oh boy, is it a busy day/week in the Sink!! Before you go, I have more to share with you!!!!

It is also the first Monday of the month, and Kitchen Sink fans know that means it is time for another crew challenge!! This month hostess is non other then ME!!! I am challenging you to use a little masking on your card. Kitchen Sink stamps really lend themselves to masking, but you do not have to mask the images...try masking a frame, or masking clouds (like I did on one of my cards below)...use your imagination!!!

My first card uses the new Little Lambs set. As you can see, I stamped the smaller lamb, masked it off and then stamped the larger lamb. Both lambs were stamped with the following ink in the following order:

Step 4: Going Grey
Step 3: Going Grey stamped off
Step 3: Going Grey stamped off
Step 1: Going Grey stamped off twice
Step 5: Basic Black

I then masked each of the lambs and stamped the grass, which is from the 3 step Honey Bunny set. I stamped the grass as follows: Step 1: Mellow Moss, Step 2: Old Olive stamped off, Step 3: Old Olive. The image panel was then finished off by masking and sponging the sky/clouds.

For the base, the grass was created with some old olive card stock that was dry embossed with a cuttlebug folder. I then punched a hole in a post-it and sponged the sun, then used the punched out hole to mask the sun as I created more masked clouds. Finally, I added the sentiment inside the sun, and finished with a bit of yellow grosgrain ribbon and yellow gems.



My second card has a bit less masking involved. Here I stamped the purple lilac image first, masked it off and then stamped the pink lilac. The colors recipe I used for each is as follows:

Purple Lilac:
Step 3: Lavender Lace
Step 4: Elegant Eggplant
Step 2: Almost Amethyst
Step 1: Bashful Blue

Pink Lilac:
Stpe 3: Regal Rose
Step 4: Rose Red
Step 2: Pretty in Pink
Step 1: Pretty in Pink

The leaves were then stamped with Mellow moss, Old Olive and then Old Olive again.

The DP on this card is from Basic Grey's Sugar Rush package, and the punch is from Martha Stewart. To finish off the card, wove some pink satin ribbon in the punched portion of the DP, and some tiny pink pearls.

I have two cards from the release to share with you today!! My first card used the Easter Blessings set! Let me just tell you, this lily of the valley image is just sooo yummy!! I stamped it in palette black and colored it with copics. For the base of my card, I did the Glassy Embossing technique from this month;s Technique Junkies Newsletter with a cuttlebug folder, versamark re-inker and ultra thick embossing powder. To finish off the card, I added the sentiment and a bit of white satin ribbon.

My second card uses The Lord Has Risen set with these lovely violets! Hmmm...I did color them with lavender copics, however my camera always turns this color blue...oh well! LOL!! The DP is from Basic Grey's Wisteria package, and the image is placed on top of some distressed velum. To finish off the card, I heat embossed the verse with white embossing powder, and added some flourished pearls from Zva Creative.
