Kitchen Sink January Release IS TODAY!!

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday..Oh wait...it is Tuesday! LOL!! Either way, it is a special day, cause it is also time for Kitchen Sink's January Release!! There are four new sets being released today. along with a re-release of an old favorite!!

Multi Step Cup of Warm Comfort
Multi Step Winter Cardnials
Friends of the Moon
Simple Sentiments
AND the long awaited return of the Multi Step Daisies Set!!

I have three new cards to show you today showcasing all the new sets, and one card I pulled from my card "vault" showcasing the returning Daisy set!

First, I have a card using the new Multi step Cup of Warm Comfort set. I KNOW...don't you just LOVE it!! MMMM...looking at this latte image just makes me crave one!! I stamped the latte and the star cookies with creamy caramel, close to cocoa and chocolate chip. I then masked the latte and added the peppermint stick which was stamped with pretty in pink, ruby red and real red.

To finish off the card, I cut the image panel out with a labels 8 Nestabilities, used a Martha Stewart punch on the red layer, and the divine swirls cuttlebug EF to emboss the base cocoa layer. The sentiment used the Fancy Labels Spellbinders Die sponged with a bit of red ink which is on some red satin ribbon.

For my second card, I used the new Multi Step Winter Bird set. Isn't this cardinal just beautiful!! I stamped the bird with rose red, ruby red, real red and basic black. The pine was stamped with mellow moss, old olive, always artichoke and chocolate chip. For this card, I used this last week's Mercy's Tuesday sketch (MTSC55), The DP is from basic Grey, and to finish off the card, I used some black gems, fancy red fibers, and a Martha Stewart punch.

For my next card, I used the Friends of the Moon set...this set is just the perfect compliment to the Autumn Moon set! Also, for a mini, you sure get a lot of different images to created not only different holiday cards (4th of July, Halloween, Christmas), but also birthday cards for the men in your life...from the little ones to the big ones. Today, I chose to make a birthday card for my Father.

I stamped the moon with Going Gray (stamped off twice, stamped off once, and then stamped directly over the two layers). I then covered the moon with versamark and clear embossed. The geese are stamped with craft black and then also heat embossed with clear EP. I then created the background by sponging and masking with bordering blue, night of navy and basic black. To finish it off, I added a bit of black ribbon, and the sentiment.

Okay, one final card for you today...I went ahead a pulled this card using the Multi step Daisies set...I don't think I ever blogged this card, so I thought it would be perfect to show you all today for the re-release of this set!

It is a pretty clean and simple card...I stamped the flower with Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose. The leaves are stamped with mellow moss, old olive and always artichoke. I then sponged the edges of the base just a bit. To finish it off, I added some crimped pink ribbon, and the sentiment with some torn edges layered with pink inked vellum.

Please head on over to see what the other crew members have created for you!!

MTSC48 - Pink Poinsettia!

I made this card for this week's MTSC48...another wonderful sketch!! The image is from Our Daily Bread Design's Blessed Christmas. I colored the poinsettia with copic markers, cut it out and popped it up on the image panel. The DP is from BasicGrey's Eskimo Kisses...such pretty colors in this paper! To finish off my card, I added some pink satin ribbon, a rhinestone flourish and large pink brad.

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a wonderful day!

SSHP02 & MTSC43 - Dressing Up Those Trees!

I made this card with the sketch for this week's MTSC43, and also played with SSHP02 challenge - to dress up those trees!! When I saw this challenge I immediately thought of this wonderful Kitchen sink tree! You can see in the picture to the left, that this is what the tree looks like when you first stamp it. So I dressed it up a bit with some colorful leaves!!

I think the rest of the card is pretty self explanatory, so I will leave it at that!! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and thanks so much for visiting today!

ODBD October Sneak Peek!!

I can not believe that September is almost over! However, with October just around the corner, that also means another wonderful release from Our Daily Bread Designs!! This month's sets are just so lovely, and will make making sympathy cards just a little easier!

For today's card I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch MTSC40. I also wanted to try my hand at today's Way to use it challenge - WT237 - where we were to think outside the box by stepping away from what we would usually do on a card. You may look at this card and think...looks like your style Connie...however, I decided that I would limit my layers! Yes, believe me...I wanted to put at least 4 more layers on this card. Also, I tried to veer away from my normal embellishments. The sketch called for ribbon, and I so wanted to put some beautiful satin caramel ribbon on this card, but instead, I decided on this thinner gingham ribbon. Additionally, I wanted to add some brad in the bottom corner, instead, I reached for some buttons which have been gathering dust for probably about two year! Aside from the card I made earlier this week with the hand made paper buttons, I can probably count on one hand the number of times I have used buttons on a card. Oh...and I can not tell you how badly I wanted to distress ALL the edges of this card with my distressing tool..but I refrained!!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Make sure to come back tomorrow for a sneak peek of one of the new sets being released by Kitchen Sink tomorrow!!

Kitchen Sink Monday - With Loving Thoughts and Prayers

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday! For today's card, I decided to combine a couple of challenges I have either never done, or have not done in forever! The sketch is from Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge (MTSC36), and the colors are from this week's color throwdown CTD57 - Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Regal Rose.

The sentiment is from the newly released Words of Comfort and Joy set, and the images surrounding the sentiment is from the 3 step hydrangea set. The flowers were stamped in Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose and Rose Red. I then sponged the background with some bashful blue ink. The DP is from Basic Gray Wisteria. To finish off the card, I added some white satin ribbon with a silver ribbon slider and some pink half pearls in the bottom corner.

Please head on over to see all the other creation the Crew members have created week for you!!
