Snow Man Giftcard Holder!

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!! I needed a few wintery gift card holders for my Nephews and automatically thought of the Invisible Snowman Set from Kitchen Sink Stamps!

I stamped the hat, carrot, button eyes, mouth and pipe first. Once they were all stamped, I punched 2" circle and used it as a mask to create the round snowball face! To finish off the card, I added the sentiment, and some brown satin wrinkled ribbon!

KSS - Teacher Appreciation...a little late! :)

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!! Okay, so it was technically Teacher Appreciation week last week, but I have not had a chance to post these until now! :) I made each of these for my DD and DS's teachers and teacher's aids!

It is really just a simple flip open gift card holder with a pouch on the inside made out of a 3 3/4" x 6 1/2" piece of designer paper, scored on the long side at 2 1/2" and 5". I then decorated the top with the 3 step School Days KSS stamp set! The books were stamped with Tea Die, Brushed Corduroy and Walnut stain DP, and then cut out. To finish off the gift card, I just added the sentiment across the top and some riding hood red tafita ribbon behind the books tied in a knot!

Even though Teacher Appreciation week is already over, these would also make a great end of year gift too! As you can see here, I added a $5.00 Starbucks gift card to each of the holders...just a little gesture to say how much I appreciate all that they do!!

Holiday Greetings Gift Card Holder

This week's challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C14) is to make a gift card....such a perfect challenge for this time of year...I need lots of them since all my niece and nephews are at that age where it is preferred by them to get a gift card so they can get what they want...I love it because it make shopping for them WAAAY more easy. Since the shopping is so easy, I figured they at least deserve a hand made gift card holder!!

The sketch for this card is from this week's Mojo Monday sketch (MOJO16). What a fun little sketch, and I thought it would work on my little 4" x 4" gift card holder! Love this Eskimo Kisses paper from Basic Grey...soooo very fun!!! The reindeer image is from the Year of Thanks II set from Kitchen Sink Stamps....love this little image! The background was dry embossed with a cuttlebug folder. As you can see here, I kept the inside of the card holder pretty simple...I thought the reverse side of the dry embossing was enough of an embellishment!

LSC235, WT233, MMSC16 - Vintage Butterfly Gift Card Holder

My dear friend, Wendy is today's hostess for the LSC over on SCS...not only is she hostess today, but today is ALSO her birthday!!! Happy Birthday Wendy!!!!! In honor of her b-day she is challenging us to use some of her favorite things to make a gift card or money holder! What are her favorite things...well if any knows Wendy...you know about her butterfly challenge...she has made 104 cards for her son who has been over seas for two years. Yep! That is one butterfly card a week for two years! What dedication!! So she has challenged us to make sure to use a butterfly on our creation along with one of her favorite SU colors...Chocolate Chip!

I decided to create a gift card holder. You can find all the dimensions on this earlier post I did about a year ago on my blog. I also loved the WT challenge of on SCS yesterday which was to create something with a vintage feel...well I LOVE vintage, so I had to join in on that challenge. I also used the sketch on the from of my gift card from this week's MMSC16.

As you can see...I do not lack anything vintage! The wonderful ornate plate is from Tim Holtz collection. The butterfly is also Tim Holtz...a grungeboard butterfly that I painted with tattered rose distress crackle paint and then sponged with walnut stain distress ink. The DP is Classic K Margo from K and Co. This double sided paper is just perfect for a project like this. In fact, the inside of the DP already had the fun flowers on it, so I did not have to do a thing to decorate the inside of my card!

To finish off the card, I added the sentiment which is from Innovative Stamp Creations Plumeria Flowers sheet, three different fun hot pink fibers, and some antique gold brads.

Kitchen Sink Monday - Teacher Appreciation

It is Monday...which means it's time for Kitchen Sink Monday!!! Last week, I was reminded that it was Teacher Appreciation week by Lori's adorable teacher appreciation card. I knew I had to make something for my DD's preschool teachers, and decided on these altered binder clips/gift card holders.

For this project, I used the 3 step School Days. The clip was covered with some SU! candy land DSP, and a portion of the ruler image, which was stamped in creamy caramel, close to cocoa, and chocolate chip. For the card holder portion of the project, I used the same DSP as the clip, and then added the apple stamped in pretty in pink, regal rose, ruby red, and riding hood red. I layered the apple on a circle and scalloped circle punch, and then heat embossed the sentiment with white EP. To finish it off, I added the Starbucks gift card with some temporary adhesive so it is easily removable!

Well, DD just LOVED giving these to her teachers...and they all really liked them! I like how quick and easy these were to make!! :)

LSC198 - Going Green!

I made this gift card holder for LSC198, which was titled "going green". We were to reuse/recycle something on our card/project for today.

I got this chocolate ribbon from a box of chocolate dipped peppermint sticks I bought the other day from Williams Sonoma. MMMMM...anyway, I when I was standing in the store, I looked at the box and the ribbon and thought...oh I could totally use this ribbon for a card! LOL!! So here it is.

Anyway, I kept it simple today...which is fitting for a limited supply challenge... it is gonna be a busy day. These gift card holders are so very simple to make. Take a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of paper. Score it in 3" on either side, and then again in the middle at 5 1/2". Fold it like a "w" and then punch the center with a word window punch and circle punch, and that is where you put the gift card. Embellish as you wish...see what I mean...totally simple!

TLC196 - Pop Up Gift Card and Tag Punch Star!!

I made this for TLC196 - Pop Up Gift Card, and I also combined it with a Tag Punch Star. To see how to make a Tag Punch Star, you can go here.

To make a Pop up Gift Card all you need is the following: 4 X 12 Piece of patterned paper, 4-1/4 X 4-1/4 Square piece of coordinating card stock (used as mat for mounting the interior of gift card), Stamps, Ink, Bone Folder, Craft Knife, Adhesive.

Take your 4 X 12 piece and score it 4" from one end (horizontal orientation) - flip to the other end and score 4" from that end. This will give you a piece divided into 3- 4" squares. Burnish all score lines with your bone folder. Take the middle square and fold it in half, creating the Pop Up portion of this card in a "hill" -^-. Using your gift card as a guide, cut a slit in the center of middle of your folded piece large enough for your gift card to slide into. Adhere the back side of your pop up portion to your 4-1/4" square piece of card stock, and embellish as desired.

For this gift card holder I use some Holiday Treasures DSP for both the holder itself, and the inside portion of the tag punch star. For the center of the star I layered a snow blossom punch, a 1" circle punch and a bling brad. To finish off the card I then added some chocolate satin ribbon and the sentiment with some silver hodgepodge hardware.

I have done a similar pop up gift card before, but this one is just a little bit bigger and gives you some extra space for embellishing! :)
