CC212 & FTTC9 - Pink Daffodils??

I made this card for both CC212 - Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip and FTTC9 - Going Green - to use something recycled on your card.

So I have been really wanting to use this daffodil image from Flourishes for quite a while now, and had figured, if it would work, I would use it for today's color challenge. However, when I saw the challenge I thought, well there goes that idea, but then on a whim, I decided to do a google search to see if there were such things as pink daffodils, and low and behold...there ARE!!! The petals are very pale in color, and the center is a bit deeper. How fun it that!! My image was stamped in Palette Black ink and then colored with my copic markers.

Now, for FTTC9 - my recycled item is this pink polka dotted ribbon that came off of a vase full of flowers I received from a friend. I thought it was just too pretty to throw away...I can't believe I even thought about throwing it away...I know *gasp*!

TLC214 & SSnotime80- Never Ending Seasons!

Okay, this week's Technique Lover's challenge is just waaaaay cool. The technique for today is called the neverending card, and you can find a video tutorial over on Dawn Griffith's Blog! It looks difficult, but believe me when I say it is just so simple, and Dawn's tutorial is just fabulous!! Also, I combined this card with this week's SSnotime80, where we were to mix our patterns by using EITHER stripes or dots and mix them with any other print or pattern. I did both on this card! LOL!!

The never ending card gives you four different flips to showcase images, so I thought it would be perfect to show the Branch Out image with the four different season. So we will begin with Spring. Here I added a bit of pink to the tree for blossoms and some blue bayou butterflies. The DSP is from SU's Parisian Breeze.

The next flip is for Summer. Here we have just the old olive leaves along with the tire swing. Again I used a bit of the Parisian Breeze DSP.

This flip showcases the branch out images for Fall. Here I stamped the leaves in more mustard, ruby red and pumpkin pie. I then added the bird house stamped in ruby red. As you can see, this flip uses the same side panels as the Summer flip, so I wanted to make sure and use a DSP that would match both seasons.

The final flip represents winter. Here I left the leaves off, and stamped the snowflakes all over with baja breeze, and added the black boots at the bottom of the tree. Again, I have showcased some more patterns from the Parisian Breeze DSP package.

Then once you make the final flip, you card starts back over at the first panel...so my card starts back over at Spring!! See what I mean...totally amazing! I will definitely be doing this type of card again!!

ISC - Minibook Series: A Journal Released Today!

I created this minibook with Innovative Stamp Creation's new Minibook: A Journal which is being released today...you can check out this new sheet over at the ISC website.

I started this minibook, by stamping the old page image with palette black on very vanilla paper. I then used the direct to paper method to distress the vanilla paper with ranger's old paper distress ink. I cut the image out, and distressed the edges with my Tim Holtz distressing tool. I then stamped the plant image (from the Flair of Summer sheet) and bird image (from the Sayings sheet) directly onto the old paper image. Next, layered it on some grungeboard covered with distressed kraft paper using the same direct to paper method with the old paper distress ink. I then rounded the corners of my book and spiral bound it with my bind-it-all.

For the tag, I used the faux metal technique, by stamping the tag image with versamark and covering it with silver embossing powder. This step was repeated three times...after the third time, I quickly stamped the sentiment directly into the still warm silver embossed tag to create the imprint of "Snapshots of Life". I then layered the tag on some grungeboard, punched a hole in the top of the tag and attached it to my spiral binding with some Tim Hotlz ball and chain.

The two closures were created with strips of grunge board inked with palette black ink. I attached them to the back of the book with a brad, and then punched a 1/8" hole in the front side of the strips. I placed two Tim Hold Hitch fastener to the front cover of the minibook for the punched holes to fit through and fasten.

ISC Blog Challenge C24 - Boxes Galore!

I got to play with three different paper mache boxes today for Innovative Stamp Creation's Blog Challenge C24. These boxes are just so fun to work with...so many possiblities!! I used three different mediums to cover each of the boxes. One with DP, one with crackle paint and one with distress ink.

This first box's base was covered with black card stock and the cover with Teresa Collins designer paper from her documented collection.

I then added the black satin bow to the top, and the sentiment and frame image (from the Open the Door sheet) connected to the base.

The second box was covered with faded jeans distress crackle paint, and then I stamped, colored and cut out the three butterflies from ISC Art 4 Fames II sheet. I finished off the box by covering the butterflies with Ranger's Glassy accents, to make them a bit sturdier, and poped them up with a glue dot on the box.

This last box was sponged with Dusty Concord Distress Ink, and then I stamped the flower image from the You're Special sheet with Palette Black ink. I then stamped the sentiment (also from You're Special) on white paper, distressed with more dusty concord ink, punched it out with a large oval punch, layered it on the scalloped oval punch, and popped it up on the box with some dimentionals.

KSCC#10 - ATC Challenge!

I made this ATC for KSCC#10 hosted this week by Tammy! You can check out her wonderful creation here, along with links to all of the other Kitchen Sink crew cards. Tammy's challenge was to create an Artist Trading Card (ATC) and then incorporate it onto a full card.

As you can see for my ATC, I used the new Multi step Lily set from Kitchen Sink. My lily is stamped with pink pirouette, pretty in pink, regal rose, rose red and then basic black. The greenery is stamped with mellow moss, old olive and always artichoke. To finish off the ATC, I used the ticket corner punch in each of the corners, and then I added a little bit of bling in the corner.

Here is what the full card came out like. I used some of SU's Raspberry tart DSP for the background layer, and for the smaller panel. I then stamped the sentiment which is from the Ready 4 Any Holiday set, punched it out with the new SU scalloped oval punch and layered it on the wide oval punch. I finished off the card with a bit of pale pink crimped ribbon, and added a few more rhinestones to the edge of the sentiment.

This was a very fun challenge for me. I don't do ATC's very often, but now that I think about it, a lot of my full cards actually start out with an ATC anyway. It was just fun to plan the ATC, and then figure out the layout for the full card! Thanks for the great challenge, Tammy!!

Great Friends!

This card is for IC172 on SCS...today's inspiration were some beautiful dresses from Little Daisy Designs...they are all adorable, you should go and check them out!

For my card I decided to use the Great Friends set from SU's spring mini. I stamped the butterfly on white with so saffron. I then layered it on a SU butterfly die cut. For the body, I used a photo turn mount and for the head I added a small rhinestone brad. I then stamped the leaf image in so saffron for the background. Added a bit of DSP, ribbon, and the sentiment (which was stamped once on baja breeze, and then again on so saffron, and then layered).

KSCC#9 - Always in Bloom!

I made this card for KSCC#9 - hosted by Nicole...her challenge was to incorperate a photo onto your card/project, and you could not do a scrapbook page. Quite a challenge!!

I found this picture of these flowers and thought they would look perfect with Kitchen Sink's 3 step Butterfly stamps! I stamped the butterfly first in so saffron, then in pumpkin pie, and finally in chocolate chip. I then paired it with a sentiment from KSS's Words of Love set. I finished off the card with some new so saffron colored ribbon originals from SU layered on top of two strips of 1/4" pumpkin pie grossgrain ribbon.

SC220 & FTTC7 - Flourished Butterflies

I made this card for both SC220 on SCS and Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge FTTC7, where we were to use ribbon. I, for one, use ribbon all the time, however I usually grab for wider ribbon, and this poor kraft taffeta ribbon has been sitting in my ribbon box forever, so I thought it was time to bring it out and use it!

What a fun layout! A perfect one to show of some DSP...and can I tell you just how much in LOVE I am with the new Parisian Breeze cover weight DSP from US!! Love the wight, texture and colors...mmmmmmmmm to yummy all around!!!!

For the sentiment and butterflies (which is a set from Flourishes), I stamped it in craft chocolate chip and then embossed with clear EP. I then used the new eyelet border punch from SU to add a bit more to the main image panel. Finally, I finished off the card with some of the kraft ribbon I spoke about earlier.

TLC212 - Ribbon Frame & Blog Candy Reminder!!

Today's technique challenge on SCS was to make a ribbon frame on you card. You can see how these wonderful frames are created over on Claire Brennan's blog. Aren't these frames just wonderful!! I am a ribbon junky big time; pretty much every card I make has ribbon on it! This technique was right up my alley!

For today's card I decided to frame this wonderful sentiment from Innovative Stamp Creation's You're Special stamp sheet with some fabulous chocolate satin ribbon. I stamped the sentiment in chocolate craft ink, and the two little daisy's in baja breeze ink with versamark over it and embossed them with clear embossing powder. The chocolate daisy's on the baja breeze base are also embossed with clear EP. To add just a bit to the baja daisy's I added a couple of yellow square rhinestone brads.

Innovative Stamp Release Today AND BLOG CANDY!! :)

I have a few more cards to show you today in honor of Innovative Stamp Creations March release today!!

This first card is made with the Open the Door stamp sheet. I just love, love, love this door!! For mine, I started with a piece of grungeboard, and then painted it with some tea died crackle paint. I then stamped the door image over the crackle paint with some Palette Black ink. Next, I created a little window in my door by cutting a small square into the top of my door, and adding some clear acetate for the "window glass". I then added a Tim Holtz hitch embellishment as a door knob...looks just like one!!

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment so it would show through my window, and then in the corner, I added the flower and butterfly image. I finished off the card by distressing all the edges. Such a fun card!!

For my second card today, I used the Passion Flower stamp sheet. This sheet comes with both a large and small passion flower, and for today's card I used the smaller image. I saw this sketch on the Sketches {by Tamera} blog, and thought it would be just perfect with this smaller flower image!

I colored my flower with some reinkers and a blender pen, the DSP I used is Parisian Breeze from SU...love this thicker specialty paper!! I then added a bit of ribbon, the sentiment and three crystal brads under the sentiment.

Fabulous!!!!

This is yet another sneak peek from Innovative Stamp creations. This "Sayings" stamp sheet will be available starting tomorrow March 13th!! In my opinion, you can never have too many sentiment sets, and this one would be a perfect addition to any one's collection.

For this card, I used a Teresa Collins Ornate Damask transperancy which is also available from ISC. I cut the ornate design out, and then layered it on a piece of torn pink pirouette inked the edges with riding hood red, and stamped it with Little Specks background. The background riding hood red piece is also stamped with the little specks background.

For the Fabulous sentiment, I stamped it in palette black, stamped the little specks background over it, and then distressed all the edges. I added a bit of black satin ribbon and attached it to the card with a couple of square rhinestone brads!

I just love this particular sentiment! I find myself saying "Fabulous" all the time, so it was just perfect for me!! :)

CC208 & MOJO76 - Better Late Then Never!

Okay so I made this card last week for both CC208 and MOJO76, and I am just now getting around to posting it!! Shame on me! LOL!!

Anyway, CC208 was Pink Passion, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss, and the sketch used for this cart was last week's Mojo Monday challenge. When I saw this color combo with pink passion I immediately thought of this new Passion Flower image which will be available from Innovative Stamp Creations this Friday, March 13th. I just love this beautiful flower image, and it is so much fun to color, which I colored with my SU markers.

It is very hard to see, but I did use a bit of Raspberry Tart DSP under the pink ribbon (which I reused from a package of Hershey kisses I got for my DD for valentines day!) For a little added texture on the background panel, I used the Little Specks background stamp from ISC. I then finished off the card with a few little pearls and the sentiment stamped in chocolate chip in the far corner.

SC219 - Don't Give Up...Another ISC Sneak Peek!

I made this card for this week's SC219 from SCS. What a very fun and easy sketch!

For today's card, I decided to use this beautiful frame and sentiment from Innovative Stamp Creation's Open the Door stamp sheet, which will be released this Friday, March 13th! I stamped the frame and sentiment with Palette Black, and then colored the flowers and leaves with a few copic markers. The DP that I used for this card is from Teresa Collin's Family Matters collection, which is also available at ISC.

I then finished off the card with some black twill ribbon across the top and a few brads in the corner of the image panel.

This is a pretty simple card, but I just love this beautiful frame...and this sentiment is just perfect for the tough economic times we are facing right now.

CC209 - ISC - You're Special Sneak Peek!!

I made this card for CC209 - Basic Black, Rose Red, and Always Artichoke...I also added a bit of gold for an accent.

I just love this new stamp sheet which will be available from Innovative Stamp Creations this Friday, March 13th!! When I first saw this bird image, I knew I wanted to make a card with it using the faux Cloisonne technique. I started with a picture from a magazine, and embossed the bird with antique gold EP over the pretty pink magazine paper, and cut it out.

For the sentiment I stamped it twice on rose red...I then cut the sentiment in two, layered the larger word on some gold paper, and then embellished the smaller words with a piece of hardware. The hardware was actually silver, but I wanted it to be gold to match the rest of the card, so I took some of Tim Holtz gold ink additive on a sponge and sponge it over the silver.

I just want to all to know that this is just the first of many sneak peeks this week, so come back to see even more over the next few days!

TLC210 - All Wrapped Up for my MIL's B-day!

I made this card for TLC210, where we were to make a crimped envelop pocket card. You can see the tutorial over on SCS here. A very fun technique indeed! I will be doing this type of card again! I really needed a card for my MIL's b-day.

Okay, for my card, I started with my A-2 envelope, and stamped the Little Specks background from ISC in pink pirouette, I then sponged the edges with more pink and a little bit of chocolate chip. I then cut the top off of the envelope, crimped the bottom and added the ribbon to the top.

When I saw this type of card, I knew exactly what image I wanted to use for this card. I just love this new All Wrapped Up stamp set from Flourishes! I think this type of card looks just like the box images in this stamp set! All of he images (for both the outside and inside of the card) and the sentiment tag are colored with copic markers. I cut the stacked package image out and popped it up on dimensional, and added the sentiment tag under the ribbon on the top portion of the card.

Well since my MIL's b-day is this Wednesday, I better get going and drop this card in the mail so it is not late!
