Happy Monday morning! Today is not only
Kitchen Sink Monday, it is also time for a Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge, and I get to be the hostess this month! :) My challenge to you, if you choose to accept it, is to "Run with Scissors"!!! LOL!! Now, I know your mom/dad told you to NEVER run with scissors, however for this challenge I am saying go for it! Okay...maybe not to actually physically run with scissors, instead let's let our scissors do some running! This week's challenge is to have at least one cut image on your card/project...it does not have to be the focal point image, and you can cut one thing or many....that is up to you...but make sure to let your scissors do some running!!
For my project today I decided to make this fun flip book for my kiddo's grandmothers for Mother's day, which was also partly inspired by this week's
OCCC which was to make something for your Mother. (As a note, some of the pictures are smaller then the others, if you want a closer look at any of the pictures, just click on them!)

This first picture is the cover of the book. Here I used the
Mix it Up! Monogram and Alphabet set to create my kids names on the label #1 nestabilities and the year in the hodgepodge hardware. The ribbon used to tie the book closed is a piece of moss satin ribbon that I got from Michael's. I also stamped the flourish images in two of the corners from the
Backgrounds and Borders set. Then, I
CUT out and popped up the butterfly from the
3 step Butterflies set, which was stamped in barely banana, so saffron and baja breeze.

This next picture is what you look at as you open the book. On the left...along with the picture of my DD, I used a border stamp from the
Background and Borders set, and again
CUT out and popped up a butterfly from
3 step Butterflies. This time they are stamped in soft sky, baja breeze and close to cocoa.
On the right, I used the
3 Step Pansies. The large flowers were stamped in barely banana, so saffron and close to cocoa (which is also what the little bee was stamped with). The smaller flowers were stamped in soft sky, baja breeze, and close to cocoa. For the sentiment I used the
Whole Family set stamped in baja breeze. Then to finish off this page, I added three large half pearls.

This next "flip" continues to show the page with my DD, but also adds the page with the picture of my DS, on the far right. Here I used the same layout as with my DD's page.
For the center page, I used the
3 step Hydrangeas, stamped with barely banana, so saffron and mellow moss. The butterfly is stamped again in soft sky, baja breeze, and close to cocoa . I found this great little poem and decided to add it to this page. Finally, I added the spiral clip with a bit of so saffron ribbon originals from SU!

This next flip has a picture of both kids as the focal point. Here I added the photo corners in mellow moss, with some yellow dew drops on top. In the opposite corners of the photo corners, I stamps a couple of flourished images from the
Background and Borders set.
As you can see with this flip, the picture of my DS stays, and you can also see a bit of one other page on this picture, but I will wait until the picture of the next flip to talk about that one!

Okay here is the next flip On either side you see a picture of my DD and my DS. For each of those pages, I stamped the tulip from the
multi step Tulip Garden in soft sky, baja breeze and blue bayou. I
CUT them both out, and added a bit of blue bayou double stitched ribbon to the flowers.
Then, for each far side panel, I again stamped both kids names and their age with the
Mix it Up! Monogram and Alphabet set. The middle panel is covered with some fun plaid DSP, where I added the sentiment "Memories are held in our heart forever" which is from the
3 step Daisies set. Next, I added a photo turn mount with a blue bling brad which holds each of these small flaps down until you are ready to open them to see the final page layout!

Last but not least, for the final page layout, I have yet another picture of both kids. This time I just added a little "Love" sentiment from the
Words of Love set, which has been punched out with the SU large oval punch and then layered with the scalloped punch.
For each of the little flaps, I used a smaller tulip from the
multi step Tulip Garden, again stamped in soft sky, baja breeze, and blue bayou...the stems were stamped with mellow moss. Finally, I added the Granddaughter and Grandson from the
Whole Family stamp set.
That is it...and if you stayed with me this whole time...WOW...I am impressed! This has to go down and my longest post EVER!! Hehehehe!
I hope you all join in and play this month! For all the deets, you can head over to the
Kitchen Sink Stamps Blog! Also, you must go check out what all the other crew members have cooked (or in this case CUT) up for this challenge! :)
Have a great day!!!
