FTTC52F - My Favorite Flourishes Stamp Set!

This is a sample for Maki's "favorite stamp set" challenge (FTTC52F) Flourishes Timeless Tuesday! Please check out the Flourishes Anniversary Celebration post to find out how to play along!

The image I used for this card is from my most favorite set Thank You set! Tulips are my favorite flower, so that would explain why this is my favorite set! I stamped the image with palette black ink and then colored it with copics. I used the Labels Five Nestabilities for the main image panel. I created my own DP by using the background set included with this set. To finish off the card, I dry embossed the base with a cuttlebug EF, added some deep red gems, and some red satin ribbon tied in a tailored bow!

FTTC52D - Think Pink!

The image for this card is from the Rock-a-Bye set. I stamped the image with palette black ink and color it with copics. The image panel was cut out using the Labels Eight Nestabilities, and the corners of the sentiment were rounded with my Zutter 1/2" corner rounder. The DP is from Basic Grey's Porcelain collection, and in a total Silke fashion, I used a white card base for my mostly pink card!! To finish off the card, I added some purely pomegranate double stitched ribbon and some pink gems!

FTTC52B - Cut it Out and Pop it Up!!

This card is a sample for Betty's "cut it out" and "pop it up" challenge (FTTC52B) for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday! Please check out the Flourishes Anniversary Celebration post to find out how to play along!

The image for this card is from the DIY Topiary set. I stamped the topiary image on some green DP from the Basic Grey Origins collection, and the base in some brown paper from the same collection. I then cut it out and popped it up on the same stamped image on the white image panel. I then colored the background sky and ground with copic markers. To finish off the card, I used more papers from the Origins collection, stamped the sentiment directly on the base, and added some jumbo eyelets and yellow gems along the side!

Country View Magnets!

I just love all these adorable little images in the Country View sheet from Innovative Stamp Creations!! They are just perfect for those small projects like inchies, or, like my project today, magnets made with Tim Holtz fragments!!

I stamped each of the images on some white paper with palette black in and then colored the scenes with copic markers. I then layered the image on a coordinating piece of card stock. To adhere to the fragment, I used some glossy accents...spread some over my image, and then placed the fragment over picture. It dried within seconds!! So very simple, but makes fun little gifts!

SC252 - ODBD November Sneak Peek!!

Hello!! I was able to play in today's sketch challenge over on SCS - SC252...and even better...I was able to play with a new set that is being released November 1st from Our Daily Bread Designs called Luke 2:11!

Isn't this poinsettia image just yummy!! Love all the flourishes!! :) I colored my image with copics and then stamped the verse in real red ink. The DP is from SEI called Peppermint Bark Double Sided Foil Paper....isn't it just scrumptious!! To finish off my card, I added a few small lime gems from ZvaCreative, and some red satin ribbon.

FS140 - Way to go Glowbug - Chris!!

My dear friend Chris (Glow bug) is today's featured stamper on SCS, and I just HAD to play along!! The card I chose to CASE can be seen here. I kept the layout the same, however I used a different scene for my image, which is from the newly released Deepest Sympathy set from Our Daily Bread Designs. I also changed the colors a bit, used different label die, borderabilities die and Nestabilities (I used label 4), and added a few more layers.

ISC September Blog Sketch Challenge!

Innovative Stamp Creations is having a blog sketch challenge over on their blog starting today, and I made this card using the fun sketch!

I used the newly released Country Life set. I kept it pretty simple by stamping the watering can, flowers, and bee (or fly) on very vanilla paper, and colored them with copic markers. I used the labels 8 Nestabilities for my main image panel, added some medium sized antique brass brads, and a large antique brass eyelet. I then added a bit of so saffron twill ribbon to finish off the card.

I have to say I love all of these new set, but I saved my favorite two for last! This first card is from the Country Living set. I first stamped the pitcher image and colored it with copics. Next I stamped the grass images. I then colored over the pitcher with my versamarker and heat embossed the image with clear EP. Next, I stamped the wagon wheel, colored with copics, then my versamarker and embossed with clear EP.

Once all my images were stamped and covered with clear EP, I was then able create the "wood siding" in the background by first brayering creamy caramel over the entire image panel, and then taking a piece of scrap paper and starting at the bottom and working my way up, spooning lines in the darker close to cocoa color.

Next I stamped the flower in this image in so saffron on so saffron paper to create my own DP. to finish off the card, I added the sentiment, some antique brass brads, and a couple of ribbon tabs in the corner.


This next card was created using the Farm Life sheet. Here I stamped the barn, colored with copics and covered with my versamarker and clear EP. I then inked the tree image by coloring the rubber directly with some Old Olive Ink for the top part of the tree and chocolate chip for the bottom part of the tree. Once it was stamped if finished coloring the tree with a few copics. Once it was colored, I did the same thing as to the barn and clear embossed it. Next, I stamped colored and clear embossed the sun image.

Once I was finished with all the images, I then was able to create the rest of my scene by sponging the pond, grass and clouds in the sky. I finished off the card by adding the sentiment, some twine, baja breeze ribbon, and the pail charm.

Our Daily Bread August Release!!!

Hello!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I am very excited to show you yet another sneak peek of one of the two new sets being released TODAY over at Our Daily Bread Designs!! For today, I have used the new Happy Birthday set...I just love this watering can image, and these butterflies are just so much fun!

I colored my image with a mixture of watercoloring and copics. I also added a bit of flowersoft to some of the flowers...my first time using it, and let me tell you...it will NOT be my last...this stuff is fun!!! I also cut and popped a few more of the flowers and the butterfly up to give a bit more dimension.

For my sketch, I decided to use this week's Mojo Monday MOJO97...not only does the watering can fit perfectly in a circle, but the butterflies were just perfect for the little circle on the side! I paired this image with some basicgrey porcelain DSP...I really liked the county sheik look to this paper!!

To finish off the card, I added the sentiment, some ribbon behind the image, and a bit more ribbon to adorn the corner!

ODBD August Sneak Peek!!

I am so excited about ODBD's release for August, and I have a sneak peek for you today!! I used three DTGD09 challenges from yesterday to create this project:

DTGD09craftycaro - Anything but Average - a card or project that is NOT the normal A2 size - obviously this is not A2 sized.

DTGD09BevMom- Sew Unexpected! - sewing on you card - My first time ever!! I sewed the border!
DTGD09debdeb--Moved by the Music - use a song as inspiration - When ever I see this verse I think of a hymn we sing often "This Is The Day The Lord Has Made."

I had so much fun working with my Bind-it-all last weekend doing the Mother Teresa Quote Book, I just had to use it again. Only this time, not for a book, but instead for this...well...I am not sure what to call it, but I had fun doing it anyway! LOL!!

The image and verse are from the new ODBD set called Happy Birthday. I colored the image with copics. I then sponged all the layers with some Tim Holtz Ranger Tea Dyed Distress ink to give it an aged/vintage look. Next, I added these GREAT vintage frames from Making Memories around my verses, and a Tim Holtz Foliage brad with added crystal blue brad by the image. I finished it off by sewing the border, and then using the bind-it-all to put it together!

CC228 & MMSC11 - Flourished Ivy Framed Butterfly

I made this card for both CC228 - Really Rust, Pretty in Pink and Not Quite Navy; and MMSC11 - what a great sketch from midnight madness...as always!!

To create my background, I embossed the Flourished Ivy image from Innovative Stamp Creations with clear EP over very vanilla paper. I then brayered and sponged some Not quite Navy over the embossed flourishes.

My frame was created with my label 1 nestabilities. The butterflies were all heat embossed with black craft and clear EP on Grunge Paper, colored with a pale pink copic, cut out and then popped up on the card.

To finish off the card, I added a bit of pink ribbon with a cream half pearl, and the bottom of the card was punched with the border eyelet punch from SU.

FTTC24 & CT0709 - Wish I Was There! LOL!!

I made this tag for this week's FTTC24 challenge which was to make a tag, and also for this month's Dirty Dozen challenge CT0709 - Tropical Paradise. When I saw this month's theme, this wonderful new Beach Life set from Flourishes popped into my head!

I stamped the images in Palette Black and then colored with a mixture of copic markers and sponging. I then added the sentiment, which who am I kidding...I wish I was there! LOL!! Also, once I stamped the sentiment I got the Jimmy Buffett song in my head "The Weather is Here, Wish You Were Beautiful!" LOL!! Love Jimmy!! :)

Okay back to my tag, I used the deckle nestabilities to frame my image and then placed it on a manila tag, which was sponged with creamy caramel and close to cocoa. To finish off the tag, I added some brads, and a fun mixture of ribbons and fibers.

Okay, I think I have put my card post off long enough! Here is the card that I have for you today!



I have used the new Serenity sheet for this card. I stamped the image in palette black and colored it with copics, I added a bit of Sakura clear gel pen to the waves to give it a really watery look (it is very hard to see in the picture though, but trust me it gives it an awesome look!!) I also stamped the bottom portion of this same image in creamy caramel on the base piece of creamy caramel.

For the bucklez on the side of my card, I started with a mint green buckle, but it really was not the right color I was going for, so I decided to alter it a bit with some copper ranger alcohol ink additive. I sponged the copper all over the buckle to give it a sort of aged copper look. I really like the way it turned out! I then finished off the card with a bit of twill tape connected to the bucklez with a couple of antique brass brads.

Round Hibiscus

I have another card for you today from Innovative Stamp Creation's Hibiscus sheet, which will be released tomorrow, June 8th!

I stamped my flower with palette black ink, and colored it with some copic markers. I then stamped some of the dew drop images from the sheet on my flower with craft pumpkin pie ink, embossed it with clear EP, and then added some crystal effects for an even more raised feel and look. I cut the image out with my creative memories circle cutter, and sponged and distress the edges with spiced marmalade distress ink.

To finish off the card I added the sentiment and some fun striped ribbon along the left side.

Sketch Of Roses

I have another sneak peek from Innovative Stamp Creation's June 8th release for you today! This card uses the third of the sheets being released...Sketch of Roses. Such a beautiful rose stamp this is!!

For my card, I stamped the rose with palette black in and colored it with copics. I then cut it out and popped it up on my card with dimensionals. The white base of my card is sponged with fired brick distress ink. I then added some Teresa Collins DP on the bottom of the card with my sentiment. To embellish the card I added some fire square brads, Riding Hood Red Ribbon, and some Karen Foster decorative corner brads.

FTTC18 - Framed Nasturtiums and some Exciting News!!

I have some fun and exciting news today! The Ladies of Flourishes and the Friends of the Flourishes Blog Team has asked me to be a guest designer for the whole month of June! How exciting it that! I will be joining them for the next 5 Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenges!! Thanks so much for asking me to join you ladies!!!

Today's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge #18 (FTTC18) is hosted by Kimberly Crawford! Her challenge is to use frames on our cards!! I colored one of the smaller images from the Nasturtiums set with a few copics. I then frmaed the image with a few Label 4 nestabilities. The DSP I used for my frames is from SU's Parisian Summer package. To add just a bit more to the frame, I stamped and colored the smallest flower vine image on the top and bottom.

Next, I used some Kiwi Kiss DSP from the Bella Rose package, and some Saffron Twill behind the image. To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment in the corner, and added some half pearls.

ISC Blog Sketch Challenge!

I made this card for Innovative Stamp Creation's Blog Sketch challenge for this month. Such a fun sketch!!

For my card, I used ISC's Gloxina stamp sheet. I inked the flower with some rose red ink, and the leaves with old olive. I then stamped the image, and colored over the flower and leaves with a few copic markers. All of the oval layers have been distressed a bit. The DSP is from SU!'s Candy Lane package. Finally I finished off the card with a bit of pink ribbon, and a filigree brad and gem.

FTTC17 - Gotta Love Sponging & A Quick Sponged Sky Tutorial!!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC17)!! This week, Flourishes is introducing its first Guest Challenge Host...and I was just sooo excited when I was asked to guest host this week!!! My challenge for you is to make a card with some sponging on it!! Sponge coloring, sponge distressing, sponge shading, and sponge stenciling, to name a few, are some of the hottest techniques in stamping! So, grab your ink pad and sponges and add a little sponging to you card! Can't wait to see what you create!!

I think it is safe to say that I sponge on probably 80% of my cards. I love it...it is just one of those super simple techniques, that adds so much to your card! For my card today, I chose to use Flourishes new DIY Topiary set...LOVE this set!! I stamped my image in Palette Black ink and then colored it with a few copic makers. I then created the clouds by sponging them with all the the things you see in this picture - a sponge, baja breeze ink, and a template...which I create each time I sponge my sky by just tearing a piece of paper...so basically my sky is a little different every time I make one because my torn template is never the same! :)



To create my background I started at the bottom of the image, placed my torn template and sponge some baja breeze . I then work my way up to the top of my card by moving my template up and also over, so that the same pattern is never stamped twice on my card . I usually move it up just past where my last sponged ink has stopped. Keep moving up until you get to the top of your paper. See what I mean...easy peasy...and the effect is so much fun, you will never have to buy another piece of cloud DP again!! :)



To finish my card, I added some pacific point ribbon along the bottom of the card. The sentiment was stamped using the Flourished Word set, and I punched it out with my small oval punch...and layered it with my large oval and designer label punches. Finally, I added a few blue rhinestones in the top corner for just a bit of added bling!

FTTC16 & MMSC1 - Nasturtiums!

This card is for FTTC17 - which is hosted by Silke this week...she has asked that we make a square card. For my sketch, I used MMSC1 - which is such a great sketch!! I was excited when I opened my mailbox yesterday and my new Flourishes stamps had arrived. I just could NOT wait to put some ink to this new Nasturtiums set!

I inked my nasturtiums with palette black ink, and then colored them with a few copic markers. To cut my ovals I used my creative memories oval cutter. The DSP is from SU!....love these colors - tangerine tango and kiwi kiss. I finished off the card with a couple of Tim Holtz metal photo corners, and a bit of chocolate chip twill ribbon.

Gloxinia Grunge!

Today is the day!! Innovative Stamp Creations is releasing three new stamp sets and they are available TODAY!!! The last couple of days, I have shown you a sample from two of the sets, and today's card is from the final set being released...Gloxinia! Wow, are these flowers stunning!!

For my card today, I decided to try some paper tole for the flower. You can find a great tutorial on how to do this technique over on SCS. I did put a bit of a spin on this technique for my card today...instead of using regular paper for my image, I used some new Tim Holtz grungepaper for my flower layers....boy is this stuff amazing! LOVE it! I stamped my flower four different times, colored it with a few copic makers and then cut different parts of the flower out and layered them all to get the three dimensional look as you can see in this picture.l

To finish off the card, I distressed the circle layer with fire brick red distress ink, and added some black twill ribbon across the bottom of the card.

I have never heard of a Gloxinia before, but they sure do look breathtaking from all the pictures I have seen...I just love all the layers the flower has!
